Paulina Opoku-Gyimah says: I keep hearing about Beverly Banahene’s delicious gourmet cookies ---and as my little man’s now on holiday –we’re going to check out her much feted cookies at her Portobello Market stall next Saturday  –we can’t wait, ......oh….don’t worry I’ll take pictures and blog about!!!

I’m stuck on which cookies to buy!!! –I’m thinking the Bakewell custard cookies, but then the Chocolate & raspberry soufflé cookies sounds fabulous, never mind the pistachio ice cream cookies -and I know my Jojo’s going to opt for something chocolaty like the Black forest cookies(salivating)!!! ---You know what…. I’m-a-buy them all…

In the meantime check the following interview from Food Blogger Connect:

Amazing baker Beverly Banahene (@BevsCookies) is the founder of Bev’s Cookie Desserts – she’ll be joining the #FBC5 StrEAT Party with her delicious homemade cookies – you can also find her on Facebook.
undefinedTell us a little bit about who you are, what you serve and where we can find you trading?
Bev’s Cookie Desserts was created from a love of baking and passion to come up with exciting new and creative cookies. Think of your favourite dessert; is it apple crumble? Bannofee pie? Tiramisu? Bread & butter pudding? Strawberry cheesecake? Bev’s Cookie Desserts has all these flavours and more in a cookie. Capturing these flavours in a cookie means that you can now enjoy these well loved desserts on the go as a snack. Our cookies are made from the finest ingredients, mixed in small batches daily and hand scooped to ensure a wonderful homemade taste and texture. We use premium fair trade chocolate ethically sourced from Ghana, creamery butter, fresh free range eggs and pure bourbon vanilla and we also offer a the range of cookies gluten free. The emphasis as a business is that we sell a fresh premium quality product that is indulgent, homemade and ethically sourced. We currently trade at several London Farmers markets including Old Spitalfields and Portobello Market.
What can FBC attendees expect from you at the event?
Look out for us at the StrEAT Party where we will bake our cookies all day, serving the full range fresh out of the cookie oven. Each batch will be served through out the day so the cookies are constantly fresh, ready within minutes of them coming of the oven. This ensures our cookies are crisp and crumbly on the outside, but soft and gooey on the inside. Click here to find out more about the flavours.

Tell us why you would like to take part in FBC5?
FBC5 is great platform to share Bev’s Cookie Desserts with the world. We aim to pioneer and create a new cookie dessert trend across the world and FBC5 completely resonates with our brand.

What inspired you to start your set-up? What are your future plans for it?
Bev’s Cookie Desserts was created from a love of baking and passion to come up with exciting new and creative cookies. I was at home one day and I said to my sister wouldn’t it be cool if you could have a dessert as a snack maybe a cookie that you could eat anywhere. Bev’s Cookie Desserts was born and the rest is history.

What does your set-up mean to you?
It is very import to us as a business to offer consistency in all our cookies; in quality, presentation and taste. Because of this our set up is very important, it can be challenging but I love what I do.

What makes the food you serve so special?
The thing that makes Bev’s Cookie Desserts so unique is the truly original recipes created in my kitchen. They combine some of the world best love desserts into delicious cookies. Never before have you been able to enjoy cookies or desserts in this way. The concept is unique not only in London and the UK but around the world.

After yours, what other street stalls out there do you think are really good?
I am in love with the concept of Zoe’s Ghana Kitchen it is not just a ‘pop-up’ restaurant – it’s a temporary dining event and catering service which merges its Ghanaian roots with a contemporary dining experience. Home spun, home cooked food @GhanaKitchen. All the things I love!

Do you have a food blog? Who is your favourite food blogger? What positive effect are food bloggers having on the country’s food scene?
I love the London eater blog, I am fascinated with new up and coming pop ups, restaurants and supper clubs.

What’s your favourite new ‘trend’ on the British street food scene at the moment?
I love the Korean Street food trend and @TheBrekkyClub breakfasts. Yum!
